Review: Alia's directionless Road, Nothing in The Name of Suspense

After 21 years, Mahesh Bhatt was going to direct a film. After 21 years, he had the opportunity to watch his filmmaking. His style, his story, was again ready to bind the audience. When the announcement about Road 2 was made, all these thoughts came to mind. Alia Bhatt's being in the film was also increasing, and she gave so many hits in a short time. But then after June 14 all changed. After Sushant's death, bollywood sparked a debate of nepotism. The first victim of the debate was Alia's film Road 2, whose trailer created a new record of dislike. Well now while reviewing today, we will not take note of those aspects, just talk about the film.

story

Mahesh Bhatt's film Sadak was released in 1991. The love story of Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) and Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) was seen by all. Now, 29 years later, Road 2 has been released. Ravi's character in the film is still the same, just a few more characters like Arya (Alia), Vishal (Aditya Roy Kapur). This time, the film emphasizes superstition or superstition. The whole story revolves around this issue. Gyan Prakash (Makananda Deshpande) is a baba who tells people that he can talk to God. Now, arya's mind has also been inserted that her mother's death was god's desire. She was suffering from cancer. But Morden's arya is not willing to believe that her mother had gone on to say goodbye to her. She realises that her mother has died because of this baba.

Ravi the taxi driver's entry in the story also happens when Arya has to go to Kailash Mansarovar. Arya also walks along with her boyfriend Vishal. Both Arya and Vishal are confident that if everyone unites, the business of these fake babas can be stopped. With this expectation, both of them go on this journey with Ravi. In between, Ravi's pooja is also shown as a love story. The 29-year-old is trying to refresh the lengths.

Well during that journey, Ravi, Arya seems to love her daughter alike. Arya also gives them not only a lot of attention in her life but also her advice on many occasions. Arya has told Ravi all his past. She also connects Ravi with her mission. Now the next story is just how Ravi, Arya and Vishal together open the kingdom of that fake Baba. How people are elevated from superstition.

Where was the omission from Mahesh Bhatt?

Mahesh Bhatt's speciality has always been that there is no emoji in his films. But while making Sadak 2, Mahesh Bhatt himself also became a confuse for what job he has to do with the film. In this simple story, he has also put up suspense, emoji, flooded action, and tried to deliver some messages in many other places. But alas so many aspects were bad decisions to pour into the same movie. There is scattering in the story of Road 2. Characters shed many, many in the story but all directionless. On the road, Alia-Sanjay and Aditya's car will continue to run but you will be left behind.

Acting

Mahesh Bhatt's film is flooded with artists, but if we say the names big and philosophy small, it won't be wrong. Looking at Road 2, it is understandable that the daughter's talent has been was lost in the father's film. Alia has not only been weak in the entire film but has also looked away from her character. Aditya Roy Kapur doesn't have to be in the film. He is just kept singing in the film. Only Sanjay Dutt is somewhat worth watching in this film. Now we will not go into the debate as to what they were given to do, but as they did, they will be called powerful. The actor has done his best in this film. The work of Makananda Deshpande in Baba's roll will be corrected. He has tried to adapt to that role to some extent, but we have seen his best role before.

direction

Mahesh Bhatt will have to give credit for the directionlessness of Road 2, the scattering of the story and the waste of talent like Alia. He has taken over the direction chair after a long time, but he has that style, missing style. The climax of the film is as if you are watching a serial from Ekta Kapoor.

There is a lot of drama in the film, but over drama is more than that. It can be said that if you have to travel on this directionless road, do it at your risk.
